Officer Tommy Adams was appointed to the Ellsinore Police Department on June 1, 2005. He is a native of the Ellsinore Community and attended East Carter County R-2 Schools graduating in 1998. From September 2004 to May 2005, he attended the SEMO Law Enforcement Academy 640 Hour Training in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Upon completion of this training, he received a Class A license from the Missouri Department of Public Safety making him eligible to seek employment as a peace/reserve officer anywhere in the State of Missouri and some surrounding States as well. In addition, he is certified in Basic Attack Defense I and II, a First Responder, trained in analyzing blood alcohol content.

He also serves as a reserve deputy for the Carter County Sheriff’s Department. He is certified as a K-9 Drug Detection Officer and is responsible for the City’s drug dog, Apache. He calls her Patches. They both look forward to serving the local schools as DARE Officers some time soon.

Officer Adams and Danielle, his wife of 5 years live just outside of Ellsinore. She is attending college and working at the Corner Café in Ellsinore which is owned by Tommy’s parents, Tony and Phylis Adams. You will see Tommy there some too, helping his mom cook.
